Server room on a ship
I work as an IT specialist and I usually get freelance contracts from many companies, which want me to install their equipment. There is really nothing extraordinary about it and usually every job I take on looks the same. I come, install the equipment, and then I check if it is working properly, I get paid and that is it. But this time I got a very special job, which I would have never expected. A company asked me to make a server room for them on a ship. They bought the needed machines and they wanted me to equip the server room with them. Honestly I was a bit worried if I could manage this job. For once I knew that the server room equipment would need some special safety measures, because the stuff could not get wet. On a ship it is possible, that huge waves can occur and you never know where the water can get in. So I had to deal with this problem somehow, because they were expecting me to. Thankfully I managed to find some handy covers for the equipment on the internet. I did not even know that such covers existed. I say you learn to it every day. My other problem was not so easy to solve. I get easily seasick and having to work on a ship war often very annoying and it pushed me to my limits. But in the end I managed to equip the server room and I was very proud to have done it.
